On the latest episode of AEI’s Banter podcast, we sit down with AEI Critical Threats guru Will Fulton to track Iran’s involvement in Syria. Will walks us through how he’s managed to asses Iranian influence using open source data. You’ll be amazed with what he’s been able to determine from judgmentally scrutinizing publically available information. He then lays out the nature of Iranian involvement – training, supplies, and intelligence. What level of influence does Iran have in Syria? Will the conflict spread out of Syria? What is the U.S. currently doing in the region? Is now the right time to buy that discount time share in Syria? All these question and more on the latest episode of Banter. Enjoy!

In this week’s episode of Banter friend of the show Daniel Hanson fills in for Andrew and we chat with AEI Resident Fellow Mackenzie Eaglen about military sequestration. Sequestration, which is a D.C. term for budget cutting, is due to happen at the end of the year and has become a large issue with unemployment high and the economy still sputtering. Mackenzie explains to us why she think something needs to be done about it, and soon. Also Daniel talks about a new piece in US News & World Reports’ “Debate Room.”
